Traditional Gifts: 10th Anniversary

ALUMINUM

Aluminum is one of two traditional 10th anniversary gifts. 1 decade, 10 years, 3,650 days, 87,600 hours, 5,256,000 minutes, 315,360,000 seconds. No matter what unit of measurement you use, your marriage is officially long and successful by this point. Congratulations! Aluminum is widely recognized as one of the most malleable metals, meaning that it is both durable and highly flexible, just as any marriage requires.

TIN

The other traditional 10th anniversary gift is Tin. Like aluminum, tin resists corrosion and rust, enabling it to withstand a decade of all that marriage has to throw at it. It’s resilient yet pliable, just like your relationship, and will last many years into the future.

Our 10th Anniversary Gifts to Each Other

Jay to Annie

You can never have enough hosting supplies! We moved into our forever home the summer before our 10th anniversary and were looking forward to hosting parties, holidays and backyard BBQs, but were a little short on everything we needed. Seeing this gift as aluminum/tin, I thought we could use a large beverage tub to display drinks and keep them cold during our parties. My thought process was we’d be filling it with aluminum cans, so it worked perfectly for this gift!

Annie to Jay

Jay and I often share the same brain when it comes to gifts and things that we need. Especially when we have to take some creative liberties with the gift category. Just like he did with the beverage tub, I bought him a YETI cooler to replace all the older ones we accumulated over the years that didn’t quite work that well. Filled with plenty of aluminum cans, our YETI has become a staple of backyard parties and trips to the beach or town pool!
