Linen is one of two modern 8th anniversary gifts. The second chance four years later to bring this luxurious fabric into your lives again. The length of your relationship at eight years is represented by the extensive work and time it takes to produce high quality linen goods.
LACE
The other modern 8th anniversary gift is Lace. Aside from the obvious gifting potential here, lace is another intricate and delicate material that takes time to develop and must be handled with care. Lace is elegant and refined, symbolizing the work that has gone into your relationship to make it to this point together.

Of course this wasn’t the first time I had bought lingerie for Annie. But it was the first time the anniversary gift list told me to do it! So I had no excuses this year, and Annie could see this coming a mile away. I bought a really nice piece from Victoria’s Secret and added a $50 gift card so she could buy herself something as well. Turns out she bought comfy PJs instead of more lingerie, but I still got to enjoy the original gift for years to come!
Annie to Jay
I know what you’re thinking. And I of course knew what Jay was thinking. But I didn’t do it! I assumed he would buy me lingerie for the lace gift and I thought about doing the same. But I figured I’d mix it up a little bit because how many pieces does a girl really need? Anyway, on to the actual lace gift. Jay had been eyeing these casual dress shoes from Johnston & Murphy for months, but felt spending almost $200 on shoes for himself was too much. I really liked the Chukka design and thought he’d look great in them for dates and casual work events. So I ended up buying a few different colors and sizes and told him to pick one so I could quickly return the rest! And shoes have laces… so, it’s a lace gift, right? He was thrilled to finally have these shoes without any guilt of spending the money himself. And seven years later, you can see the wear in them as he still uses them often!
